In double layer knitting, the upper and lower yarn movements are drawn according to certain proportions.
Warp and weft ratios can be the same or different. For example; warp ratio = 1/1 (one upper warp – one lower warp), weft ratio = 2/1 (two upper weft – one lower weft) or warp and weft ratio = 1/1.
In double layer fabrics, the top and bottom weave are usually the same. However, since both layers are formed separately, different weaves can also be used.
During the drawing-in process for double-layer fabrics, the upper fabric warps are usually grouped on the front frames and the lower fabric warps on the back frames.
